How to Commission an Illustration from our artists

How to Commission an Illustration from Traffic: Step-by-Step

  • 1. Project Briefing
Share your concept, goals, and key project details—such as the intended use, style references, format, timeline, and any must-haves. The more specific the brief, the better the outcome.

  • 2. Creative Proposal
Based on the briefing, the Traffic will prepare a tailored proposal outlining the creative direction, project scope, cost estimate, and timeline. This ensures clarity and alignment before work begins.

  • 3. Concept Development
Once approved, the artist creates and presents up to three rough sketches to explore different visual directions. These are for discussion and initial feedback.

  • 4. Feedback + Refinement
You select your preferred concept and provide input. The artist refines the chosen sketch, incorporating your notes to shape the final illustration.

  • 5. Final Illustration + Final Round of Revisions
The refined concept is fully developed into the finished artwork. One final round of minor adjustments is included, to fine-tune details and ensure satisfaction.

  • 6. Final Artwork Delivery
The completed illustration is prepared to your technical specifications—format, resolution, color profile, and any print or digital-ready versions—and delivered for use.
